Plotting & planning for a happy and prosperous 2022!

I can’t believe we’re now in to 2022! As I age life seems to be speeding up at a scary rate. I try to pay attention to the little things and make the most of every moment, but it’s tough when I’m so busy with work, #volunteering, being a mum and a million other things. I have lots of plans for 2022 including not working 7 days a week all the time! Some #self-care is definitely on the cards, but I also want to grow and push my business goals forward too. It’s a tricky balance

    Pregnancy Yoga Savasana/Relaxation (6 of 6)

Hey everyone, Today is the last in the series of 6 pregnancy yoga sessions. I hope you’ve had a chance to try all 6, and maybe even completed them all in one go to complete a 1 hour and 20 minute routine. This week you can relax, lie down and listen to the words. I will read a beautiful script to relax mind and body. At the end there is a section on positive birth affirmations. I hope you get the chance to follow these and afterwards to make some of your own and use during yo

Pregnancy Yoga Standing (4 of 6)

Today’s pregnancy yoga taster is the standing sequence. This section can be practiced after the warm up, all fours and kneeling sequences to form part of a longer practice or just with the warm up. This is still a gentle sequence but slightly more active than the other sections. Next time we’ll head down to seated and then to a lovely relaxing savasana. Well what can I say about 2020! It’s been such a tough year for a lot of people. I’ve always been a homely person, I like peace and quiet and my own company, but lockdown and the awful situation regarding the pandemic has taken its toll. I’m really hoping that we’ll see the back of this evil pandemic soon into 2021. I started my doula business in 2019 and it’s going really well. Considering the pandemic hit soon after my launch, I’m really pleased with how it’s going. I’d alr

    Pregnancy Yoga taster for OFP

Today’s pregnancy yoga taster has been put together with optimum foetal positioning (OFP) in mind. To encourage your baby in to the OFP you could try these asanas, which help your body to stay UFO! This has nothing to do with little green men thankfully, it stands for Upright, Forward and Open! I’ve recorded a video in the past about OFP and what this means, and why you might want to try and encourage your baby in to this position, I’d love for you to take a look. I’m also ve

Pregnancy Yoga Wake Up Morning Flow

Good morning everyone, Today I’ve recorded a lovely pregnancy yoga taster to practice during trimester 2 and 3 of your pregnancy. You may want to leave out the downward dog if you’re in trimester 3. This is a great morning/wake up routine but it can be practiced any time of the day if you prefer. If you’d like a longer practice you can link this to some of my other routines. Please take a look at other pages on my website to find out more about my doula services or to see det

    Pregnancy Yoga Warrior Flow Sequence

Hey everyone, Today’s pregnancy yoga taster is a warrior flow sequence For a longer yoga session you could follow one of my other taster routines and then move on to this one. It’s great to practice this one after a slower warm up session, to wake up the body nice and gently. It’s generally designed for trimester 2, but it can be practiced during trimester 3 if you feel you have the energy. There’s lots of warrior asanas included, so I’d recommend practicing on days when you

    Pregnancy Yoga for Sciatica

Here is a 20 minute sequence to help ease the feelings of sciatica during pregnancy. It’s not a cure but I’ve had students come to class limping and leaving the class with a spring in their step, feeling much less discomfort. Please do also get checked out by a medical professional if you have pain, a women’s health physio might be ideal if you are diagnosed with sciatica. If you’re near me in Essex I can give you a few great recommendations. To read more about my doula and y

    What is relaxin during pregnancy?

When you’re pregnant you have more of a hormone called relaxin in your body. This is the hormone that relaxes the ligaments in your pelvis and softens and lengthens you’re cervix, in preparation for your baby’s arrival. It’s easy to over stretch during pregnancy, due to the relaxin. To prevent this and to stop problems with instability for years to come, it’s worth taking action early. You can try gentle exercise, but it’s important to focus on strength and stability, rather

    Honouring Your Womb Pregnancy Yoga

A pregnancy yoga sequence to honour your womb, the amazing organ that’s growing your baby! I learnt this routine (which I’ve adapted slightly) whilst on my yoga teacher training with Sally Parkes, about 4 years ago now. It’s a little different to my general sequences, I talk about Goddess Kali and this 15 minutes even features my cat haha! I hope you come out the other side of this sequence feeling strong, empowered and excited about life! Please feel free to try my other vid

Pregnancy Yoga for a Confident Birth

Today’s 10 minute pregnancy yoga taster is nearer 20 minutes, once I get going I just can’t stop haha! The theme, or thought for this session is around confidence. I want you to feel confident about your body’s ability to birth your baby and to feel confident from conception to birthing and beyond. In this session I talk about affirmations and practice some movement and sound that utilises the throat, cervix connection. I hope after this session you’ll feel confident going fo

    Pregnancy Yoga for Birth

Today’s pregnancy yoga taster is very gentle and suitable for trimester 3 of pregnancy. This routine can also be practiced during early labour. It’s very gentle and been designed with the last few weeks of pregnancy and early labour in mind. It may help your body to utilise gravity, help with back ache and encourage your baby in the right direction by keeping an open pelvis and your body upright. A lot of people ask me how they can get early labour to progress, and being upri
