Birth Doula

How I will support you as a Birth Doula

My aim is to make you feel safe, supported, loved and empowered to achieve your best birth possible.

I will provide continuity through your entire pregnancy and birth journey. Really listening and being present with you, passing no judgement, not seeking to influence whilst providing options. I will make a situation emotionally safe to progress through, and for you to know that any feelings that arise are ok. I will ensure you feel like nothing else matters in this precise moment except you.

You will receive my physical, emotional and practical support, along with the knowledge I have gathered over my years as a doula. You will have access to my birth pools, Elle TENS machines, aromatherapy kit and the contents of my famous doula bag!

I can support any birth type whether hospital, home, birth centre, water, active birth, VBAC, IVF, caesarean birth, surrogacy, birth after loss, same sex couples, physiological birth and birth using any pain relief options.

I will support your birth partner if applicable and will work alongside your midwife and any doctors. It’s in everyone’s best interests to get along and work together as a team to achieve a positive birth experience.

I will hold your hand, mop your brow, bring you drinks and snacks and provide top tips for a positive birth. I will educate on optimal foetal positioning, how to sustain energy, active but restful birth positions, relaxation techniques and birth progression suggestions. I will support you through surges (contractions), offer affirmations, visualisations and explain anything you’re unsure of. I will be there for anything you need and to remind you that you are amazing, strong and a powerful person!

“It just felt like we had our best friend with us in the delivery room”
